We will be doing play-by-play for the three female fights on this card. Here is what we watched transpire when Germaine "Iron Lady" de Randamie (pictured), Hiroko Yamanaka, and Mike Beltran hung out inside the cage together.
The heavily bearded Mike Beltran will be the third human in the cage for this one. Germaine de Randamie is connecting, and missing, with the much heavier shots here. Yamanaka needs to get creative to get inside on de Randamie. She lands very few jabs and misses on a well timed superman punch. Yamanaka goes for a takedown late in the round but it's just not happening. Plenty of head movement and fancy footwork from Yamanaka but de Randamie is not budging. As we head into the second round its clear that de Randamie is up on the scorecards 10-9.
We open with both fighters exchanging leg kicks. Germaine's kickboxing is showing up now, every thing she throws is just ten times harder than her opponent. Yamanaka is hanging in there, she now engages and gets de Randamie on the fence. The Dutch fighters stamina will come into play shortly here. The former Smackgirl champion isn't really having any luck here and now she takes de Randamie all the way across the cage, unable to complete the takedown. Yamanaka is eating punches for her efforts. Beltran really wants to break this up, and he does. Just over a minute remaining in the round and Yamanaka looks to be the fresher fighter. Just when I say that she gets wobbled from a stellar combination via the fists of de Randamie. Although de Randamie is clearly winning this fight it is far from over. 20-18 de Randamie as we enter the third frame. Credit to Yamanaka, this girl can take a punch. Very tough.
Left hook from de Randamie, and a right lands. Another wild left. Yamanaka has a mouse under her right eye. Power strikes are now 20-1 so far for de Randamie we are told. Another lazy superman punch attempt from Yamanaka. de Randamie has a body lock on Yamanaka against the cage now. Groin shot via the knee delivered from Yamanaka to de Randamie. I have no idea what the feels like but it can't be good. She takes about thirty seconds and gets right back to it. Oh my, great exchanges from both ladies! Both girls are landing, deciding they both want to leave it all in the cage. We are now clinched again with Yamanaka deciding she does not like the power of de Randamie on her face. They seperate and Yamanaka eats another right. Yamanaka is taking everything from de Randamie as we close out this one. Even a right head kick and she doesn't even flinch. This will be a huge win for de Randamie who has stressed that she can make the move down to 135 if needed.
Final Result: Germaine de Randamie defeats Hiroko Yamanaka via UD (30-27 x 3)
