Video: Anderson Silva improves to 15-0 inside the Octagon
Every great fighter needs an archnemesis. Anderson Silva didn't choose his. He was chosen by Chael Sonnen. Sonnen did as he always does last night by bringing the fight to his opponent. He refused to give Silva even a second to think before he was on his ass once again and taking in a healthy dose of Sonnen GN'P.
The difference this time was Silva adapted, he controlled the challenger's leg for the duration of the round and when Sonnen finally did gain full mount he controlled his wrist. Sonnen never really was able to land that finishing blow, he nearly had five full rounds to do it in 2012 and was given another chance tonight. The difference between Sonnen and Silva was apparent in the 2nd Round. When Silva was given an opportunity to capitalize on an error from his foe (an awkward spinning back fist all the way from West Linn) he made sure it would be Chael's final mistake.
