Miesha Tate is back earlier than expected. We aren't complaining. (photo credit - fightmagazine)
We knew Miesha Tate would be back. There was no question about it. Did we think she would be back less than 6 months after having "everything torn" (her words) in her arm by Ronda Rousey? No. You just hope that Miesha isn't pulling a Nogueira here by signing up to fight before she's actually healed. Knowing a little bit about Miesha, I don't believe that's the case.
The former Strikeforce Bantamweight champion's next opponent is no slouch. Julie "Fireball" Kedzie was on a four-fight win streak before having it snapped by Strikeforce contender and Team Cesar Gracie product Alexis Davis via unanimous decision. Kedzie has taken such WMMA legends as Gina Carano and Tara LaRosa to the distance, albeit in defeat. On August 18th, live on Showtime, we'll see if Kedzie is ready to put herself in contention for Rousey's strap. Or will Tate begin her conquest to get the rematch she craves?

Tate is a tough cookie. She wouldn't tap. I'm not surprised. The top women in the sport are the real deal and tough as nails.
