UFC 125 Results: Edgar vs. Maynard ends in Draw

Main Card:

Lightweight Championship: • Frankie Edgar (C) vs. Gray Maynard

 These two fighters just put on one of the greatest UFC Main Events in recent memory. Edgar survived Maynard's 1st Round onslaught to retain his Lightweight Title. Unfortunately for Maynard, Anthony Pettis is slotted for Edgar next or else we would probably see an immediate rematch. Either way there are no losers here, even the judges got the decision right. We had this one 47-47 in the end with Maynard taking the 1st Round 10-8. 2nd: Edgar 10-9. 3rd: Maynard 10-9. 4th Edgar: 10-9. 5th: Edgar 10-9. The Judges had it (48-46, 46-48, 47-47)

• Chris Leben vs. Brian Stann

 Brian Stann may or may not have knocked Chris Leben out not once, not twice, but three times during this 3 minute and 37 second bout. Hard to watch for Leben fans. Stann is a monster at 185.

• Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva

Thiago Silva dominated Vera in what may very well be Brandon's last fight in the UFC. Silva also got to show off his drumming skills on Vera's back. Oh ya...Vera's nose also got rearranged in this fight. The judges scored this one (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) in favor of Silva.

• Nate Diaz vs. Dong Hyun Kim

 Hyun Kim won this one via UD (29-28 x 3). Dong really didn't do a whole in this one except outscore Diaz in takedowns 3-1. Other than that alot of Diaz attempting subs from the bottom. Neither fighter looked impressive.

• Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi

The dude submits the Fireball kid via guillotine at 4:27 of the 2nd stanza. Not the fireworks we expected from this match up but still a good fight nonetheless. Huge huge huge notch for Guida.

• Jeremy Stephens vs. Marcus Davis

 Stephens Knocks Out Davis with a beautiful punch to the head at 2:33 of the final round

• John Grispi vs. Dustin Poirier

Poirier dominated Grispi in this one taking it (30-27 x 3) on the judges scorecards. Grispi is clearly not ready for that Featherweight title shot he was given against Jose Aldo before Aldo got injured.

• Phil Baroni vs. Brad Tavares

Tavares KO's Baroni at the 4:20 marker of the 1st Round.

• Diego Nunes vs. Mike Brown

Nunes defeats Brown via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

• Daniel Roberts vs. Greg Soto

Roberts defeats Soto via kimura at 3:45 of the 1st Round

Volkmann defeats McKee via Split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)
